Updated Uniform Policy

Dress Code

Mayo Uniforms

All Tulsa Public School students are required to follow a distric wide Student Dress Code.  The TPS dress code can be found at  http://www.tulsaschools.org/1_Administration/_board_policies/PolicyManual.pdf.  Additionally, each school implements its own uniform policy, specific to its school, that is carefully structured to make sure that students are safe, secure and free of distractions during their learning day.

Enforcement

All students are expected to follow the Mayo dress code.  Should a student arrive at school out of uniform, the following procedure will be followed:

The student will be sent to the office.  If available, a substitute uniform will be loaned to the student.  The student will be notified that the uniform is not in compliance with the Mayo dress code.  If a student repeatedly violates the dress code, the parent will be called and asked to bring appropriate uniform items to school.

Mayo Colors

Royal Blue, Red, and White

Please be careful when purchasing uniform items from other retailers (Target, Wal-Mart, Lands End, etc.) to make sure that the items conform to Mayo’s dress code.  There are many different khaki items (cargo pants or shorts, capris, etc.) which do NOT conform to our dress code.  Royal blue shirts are especially hard to find, but they can be found early in the summer at Academy Sports.

For items not purchased at a uniform shop or from Mayo consignment, Mayo patches are available for you to sew on at home.  They may be purchased from PTA or the school office for $1.00.
