Goodall Overnight-Thank you to everyone who attended the overnight meeting on Tuesday. We are only two weeks away from our big trip!
We spoke to the camp director on Monday and learned that there was a misunderstanding about the size of our group. We have secured both lodges and 2 cabins which will hold approximately 145 people. So…we have asked that if you enjoy camping that you can bring your tent and “rough it” in the great outdoors. We have had many parents volunteer to do this, so we will have plenty of room for everyone. Thank you for being flexible!
Next Thursday, March, 31st, we will send home a large, plastic trash bag (for sleeping items) and a packing list. The trash bag is to be returned on Wednesday, April 6th to your homebasearea. This is to assure that all children have their supplies they need for the overnight. In the past, we have had students that did not have sleeping bags, pajamas, etc. because they did not bring the bag early. This also makes it much easier to load buses in the morning.
Included in your child’s homework folder is a paper with craft volunteer opportunities and donations that we would like to have. Please fill this out and return it by Tuesday, March 29th, 2016.
Also, attached to this e-mail is a sack lunch request form. This needs to be filled out and be turned in by Tuesday, March 29th, 2016. The form ONLY needs to be returned if your child needs a lunch from the cafeteria. https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B9tK7eFBM-uPa1pGb1pIM2NzMUU/edit?usp=docslist_api&filetype=msword
We have sent home permission slips from Camp DaKaNi with your student’s homework, if you have not returned this form, it needs to be returned to your student’s homebase teacher by Tuesday, March 29th, 2016. If you have already submitted it, simply discard it and thank you for being prompt!
Last item, we are planning on serving hot dogs and hamburgers for dinner on Thursday and eggs, bacon and biscuits for breakfast on Friday. We also plan to have pizza for lunch on Friday at the zoo. If you or your child has dietary restrictions or food allergies, please let us know. We want to make sure everyone is happy and safe!
If you were unable to attend conferences, please make an appointment to see your child’s literacy/math teacher in order to review and sign your child’s MAP scores.
We are having a few issues with lip gloss being brought to school. Several girls like to stop by their cubby and apply a fresh coat when transitioning to different areas. Please have them keep cosmetics at home. ChapStick is fine as long as it does not become a distraction.
Summer School Opportunity: Tulsa Public Schools offers a summer school program for all students entering grades 1-6. If you need an application please let your child’s homebaseteacher know. Your child’s teacher may be contacting you to recommend this program as well. Completed forms are due by April 29.
Tulsa Public Schools needs your feedback on how to manage the drastic state budget cuts we are expecting for the next school year. They know they will need to make difficult decisions and want to minimize the impact on our students, teachers and schools. They would like your input and suggestions as they determine how to best move forward. The survey will end at 6:00pm on Wednesday, March 30th. Please use this link to complete a very important survey. https://tulsaschools.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_9nRg5FH5fr4FTjn.
