Mayo PTA: Einstein Update 1-12-2017

Due to last Friday’s inclement weather, tomorrow is Spirit Day!! Einsteins may wear a Mayo t-shirt and regular uniform bottoms. Library Books are also due tomorrow.

Reports cards came home today with your Einstein! Please check your Einstein’s backpack!

Einstein Overnight The Einstein overnight will be February 24^th-February 25^th. Please mark your calendar for this fun and exciting “being there experience”. More details to come in the future!

Special Request We are in the process of organizing a vehicle fair for the Einsteins. If you know of someone who has a unique vehicle (for example: limo, rock crawler jeep, art car, moving truck, tow truck, semi, etc.), please give their contact information to Miss Mason (masonsu@tulsaschools.org)

Second Year Einsteins will continue to take the MAP test through the end of next week. During this time period, each second year Einstein will take the Reading and Math portion of the MAP Test. Please make sure that your Einstein is well rested and eats a good breakfast!

The 6^th Annual Mayo Trivia Night is Saturday, January 28! Trivia Night sells out, so act fast! Trivia Night is hosted by the Mayo Foundation. We hope you will get a team of six together to participate in this fun event at the Campbell Hotel! Look for a flyer coming home with your child today!

As your Einstein outgrows their uniform shirts and uniform bottoms, consider donating these items to the nurse’s office. Also, if you have borrowed any clothing from the nurse, please return those items.

Thursday February 2^nd, the second-year Einsteins will be going on an Any Given Child sponsored Field Trip. Any Given Child provides learning opportunities through the arts for children in grades K-5. The second-year Einsteins will be seeing a musical production. Due to limited space, we will not need parent volunteers. Your second-year Einstein should wear a red Mayo shirt with regular Mayo bottoms.

February 10th at 2:15 will be our Friendship parties with family. On this day we also pass out friendship cards (a.k.a Valentines). Please help your child prepare 2 sets of cards. One set is to give to family members-16 plus family teacher. The other set is for the homebase group-25 students plus 2 teachers. Please put the cards in a bag labeled with your child’s name and with the label “homebase” or “family.” Please do not address the cards to specific children. Please start this job soon! It takes a while to write your name so many times! All Einsteins should be able to sign their names on their cards on their own if they spread the job over several days. It is fine to attach a piece of candy or a sticker to the cards if you would like. Please be mindful that some children have peanut allergies and avoid candy with nuts.
