Dear Edison Families,
Happy 2016!! We hope everyone had a great start to the new year. This is the time during the school year when things start flying! We will do our best to keep you updated via our weekly updates each Thursday. Weather sometimes becomes an issue as well. Make sure you have downloaded the SchoolWay app to get the latest updates regarding school closings and other important information.
We have a Field Study this Monday, January 11thto Crystal Bridges Museum in Bentonville, AR. In order to arrive at the museum on time, WE WILL LEAVE MAYO AT 7:45! It would be a good idea to have your child arrive at school by 7:30 so they can use the restroom and load the bus. If your child eats breakfast at school, please have them here even earlier. Of course we understand that bus riders have no control over the time they arrive, so we will wait for bus riders only. Your child does not need to bring a lunch since the museum is providing a healthy lunch for us. Please have your child wear their tie dye Edison POW t-shirt and regular Mayo bottoms. Will you be joining us? Please let us know by responding to this email or sending a note with your child. We do not have extra room on the bus for parents, but you can either follow the bus or meet us at the museum.
The Edison students have been working with our art teacher, Mr. Wills and our librarian, Mrs. Wilson on an Artbot project. The Edisons would like to invite you to come find out what an Artbot is and to view their creations on Monday, January 25 from 2:10-2:50. We hope you can swing by during that time. We know they are excited to show off their projects!
Please note that Friday, January 15th is a TPS Professional Development day. Students will be out of school this day as well as Monday, January 18thfor MLK Jr. Day.

The 5th Annual Mayo Trivia Night is Saturday, January 23! There is a registration form in this week's Home and Back. Trivia Night sells out, so act fast! Trivia Night is hosted by the Mayo Foundation and they use the funds they raise on this to finance the annual Mayo staff retreat. We hope you will get a team of six together to participate in this fun adult event at the Campbell Hotel!
