One Last Field Study!
Goodalls will be taking a trip to Woolaroc Museum as the culmination of their OERB unit. This will take place on April 28th. Buses will leave Mayo at 8:45 and return about 2:30. Students will need a sack lunch for that day. Please let us know as soon as possible if your student will bring a sack lunch, or will need one from the Cafeteria. We will have more info about any needed Parent Volunteers next week.
MicroSociety:
Our final big project for the year will be Goodall MicroSociety. MicroSociety is a way to bring real-world experiences into the classroom and further our study of goods/services, wants/needs, income/scarcity, etc. In the upcoming weeks, Goodalls will be learning about Economics. They will be working in small groups to create a “business” that will sell a good or provide a service. Each group will be required to submit a business proposal. Once these are decided, we will send a letter home to let parents know what supplies students will need. We’ll be encouraging them to choose businesses that won’t require expensive supplies. Students will plan, price, and advertise their businesses. We will set up booths/tables for Goodalls to shop each other’s booths. On the final day, of Micro, we will invite parents to come and shop!
Family:
Our last day of Family will be April 26th. This is generally a Family Teacher party. Teachers would love a written note from your Goodall, telling them how much they enjoyed their time together this year, and what was fun.
