5th Grade Pancake Breakfast – The 5thgraders will be holding a Pancake Breakfast this Saturday morning at University United Methodist Church (500 S. College Ave. – TU Campus) to raise money for their annual 5thGrade Trip. All-you-can-eat pancakes will be served from 8:30-11:30. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Please see a 5th grader to buy tickets and help support their trip to St. Louis!
Join us for Dine and Donate at Yolotti on Brookside, March 4th from 12:00pm-10:00pm. A percentage of the sales will go to Mayo! March 4th is also a TPS Early Release Day and Spirit Day! School will dismiss at 1:00.
March 5th is the Mayo Auction! Your child’s Mayo family has been hard at work creating a project to sell at the auction! We hope you will come to this fun, adults-only event! You will definitely want to see and bid on the coveted Einstein quilt! Thank you to Whitney Lahann and Mr. Wills for putting this together! It looks beautiful and will be on display in the library before the auction!
Student-led conferences will be Monday, March 7th 3:15-5:45 and Tuesday, March 8th 3:15-5:45. Please plan now to attend one of these days to celebrate your child’s progress. We want you to see your child’s learning in action. We hope to see every family. Please let us know if you can’t come during one of these times and we will work together to schedule a time for you to come to Mayo with your child.
We have been given an awesome opportunity to go to Circle Cinema on Wednesday, March 9th. We will be watching March of the Penguins to wrap up our study of Penguins and Arctic Animals. Due to limited seating, we won’t be able to have parents attend. We hope you will join us the following day at the zoo!!
March 2nd will be Wacky Wednesday in recognition of Dr. Seuss’ Birthday and Read Across America.We have many plans in place for this community day and hope the kids will enjoy them. The kids can wackify their Mayo uniforms by wearing it backwards with crazy socks, mix match shoes, crazy hair and more. After checking in with homebase, students will go to family at 8:15to start this fun day! We will have an all school picnic lunch from 11:45-12:15. We will be eating on the front lawn. Our community day will end with an “Oh the Places You’ll Go” balloon release around 1:20. After our balloon release, students will go back to homebase for the remainder of the day. We hope your student is looking forward to this great day!
We will be spending the day at the Tulsa Zoo, Thursday March 10th. Sack lunch forms are due Monday, February 29th. Please see your homebase teacher for a sign-up sheet to join us on this special day. Parent admission is $5 and is prepay only. All money will need to be turned in to your homebase teacher no later than March 9th. Parent admission at the gate will be $10. As a reminder, Field Studies are for Einsteins and their parent/ guardian only. Please make other arrangements for siblings.
Summer School Opportunity: Tulsa Public Schools offers a summer school program for all students entering grades 1-6. If you have a second year Einstein and are interested in this program, please fill out the application from last week’s home-and-back. If you need an application please let your child’s homebase teacher know. Your child’s teacher may be contacting you to recommend this program as well. Completed forms are due by April 29.
