NEXT WEEK!!! Our first field study…..
On Monday, you will receive a black garbage bag, labeled with your child’s name and homebase. Stapled to the bag is a packing list. The black bag needs to come back to school on WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 28TH. This is your child’s “reservation”, letting us know they ARE attending the Overnight. We need the bags on the bus Thursday, not in parent cars. Check and double-check as you pack! Clean, dry clothes are a necessity after our river trip.
**IF YOUR CHILD NEEDS A SACK LUNCH FROM THE CAFETERIA FOR THURSDAY, WE NEED THE LUNCH FORM RETURNED ASAP.** We encourage you to pack your lunches in gallon Ziploc bags to keep them dry on the raft. We will be eating lunch on the river.
Thursday Morning: Please be here by 7:15 a.m., so that we may load supplies and be able to leave by 8:00 a.m. Each parent who has signed up to go will receive a packet which includes the agenda, cabin assignments, and raft assignments. These will be on tables in your child’s homebase area. You will also need to pick up a car sign in the same area. This helps us keep our convoy rolling together. STUDENTS MUST RIDE THE BUS TO WAR EAGLE THURSDAY AND TO CAMP TAKATOKA FRIDAY. If you choose to take your child home with you on Friday, please find his/her homebase teacher and sign your child out with them.
Procedures-Please review arrival and dismissal procedures. As always, we want your child to be safe at Mayo.
For those of you who are having difficulty opening the newsletter document, we will have hard copies outside Mrs. Sowle’s classroom.
