TULSA, Okla. – The Foundation for Tulsa Schools announced the launch of Together for Tulsa (#T4T), a fundraising effort with an ambitious goal: to raise $2 million in 30 days to support TPS students, teachers, and schools.

During the month of June, Together for Tulsa donations will be matched dollar for dollar by a group of dedicated community members, for a total of $2 million to support Tulsa Public SchoolsTogether for Tulsa is an opportunity to donate much-needed funds to help offset chronic underfunding of our schools,” said Foundation for Tulsa Schools Board Chair Steve SoulĂ©. “With the continuedsignificant losses in state revenue, we knew that it was time to unite Tulsans around supporting our students and teachers. Gifts of any size will make a difference in our schools, and I hope that everyone will contribute and come together for Tulsa children.”

As our challenging financial picture became increasingly clear, one question that I heard again and again from Tulsans was ‘how can I help?’” said Superintendent Deborah A. Gist. “Our community members want what’s best for our childrenand Together for Tulsa is a way for them to help ease the classroom impact of the state budget cuts. These are difficult times for teachers and students in Oklahoma, but we will get through it if we come together to invest in great teaching and learning at Tulsa Public Schools. Together for Tulsa is our chance to demonstrate the strength of our commitment to bright futures for Tulsa students – they deserve nothing less.”

Community members are encouraged to give online at www.FoundationforTulsaSchools.org and to share the campaign on social media using #T4T. Together for Tulsa is made possible through the generosity of Tulsans and The Foundation for Tulsa Schools. All gifts in support of Together for Tulsa’s $2 million goal are fully tax-deductible.
