Greetings Armstrong Parents!
Testing is over! The kids have done such a great job and we are very proud of them. Also, our program is tonight at 6:30 in the Wilson Auditorium! We look forward to showing everyone what we’ve been working so hard on. The 5th grade will be gone 3 days next week and we only have 15 school days left! We can make it!
FYIs and Reminders:
- There will be no Early Release Friday in May but May 6th will be a Spirit Day. Your Armstrong can wear a Mayo spirit shirt with regular uniform bottoms on this day. Since no inclement weather days were used this year, the last day of school will be Tuesday May 17th.
- Returning Mayo Students – If your child is a 4th grade Armstrong and planning on returning to Mayo next year and you haven’t already turned in your form, please stop by the office to fill one out or print the attached one.
- The book fair will be coming to Mayo May 2nd through the 6th and will be a Buy One Get One sale. There is also a coin war going on in the library that will benefit All for Books. Please see attached flyers for details!
Volunteer Breakfast- Each year we like to honor those people who graciously give their time to volunteer at Mayo. If you have volunteered in any way, shape, or form this year you are invited to our Volunteer Breakfast on May 13th at 7:30 A.M. in the Mayo Library. We appreciate all your hard work! This will be followed by the Lifeskills Awards at 8:15 A.M.
Armstrong Program – The Armstrong Program is TONIGHT at 6:30PM. We would like participating Armstrongs to be at school by 6:00 P.M. at the latest. If you are a singer or dancer with no speaking part then you need to be dressed in a white t-shirt and jeans (and shoes that are comfortable to dance in). All students with speaking parts will have a costume here (unless they were directed by Ms. Molina to bring some of their costume from home). Hope to see everyone there!
4th Grade Field Study- The 4th grade will be attending the Flight Night Kite Festival at TU on Friday May 6th from 11-1pm. This is in conjunction with Tulsa Regional STEM alliance. They will be completing a curriculum about flight prior to the festival and each student will be creating their own kite to bring with them.
IMPORTANT 5TH GRADE INFORMATION:
-Our last meeting was yesterday and the meeting notes have been sent out. The rooming list, packing list, contacts list, bus assignments, and itinerary will be coming home today in Home N’ Backs. Be on the lookout!
As always, if you have any questions please feel free to email your child’s homebase teacher, myself Mrs. Smith (email@example.com) or Mrs. Moore (firstname.lastname@example.org). Have a wonderful weekend!
