Edison Update 12-17-15

Dear Edison Families,

We had another great field study this week to the Capitol and Gaylord Pickens Hall of Fame Museum.  Our next one is coming up on Monday, January 11th.  We will be traveling to Crystal Bridges Museum in Bentonville, AR to experience the Picturing the Americas exhibit.  It will be a kick off for our next component of our year long theme, The Power of a Nation.  A grant provided through the Willard and Pat Walker School Visit Program will pay for our bus and provide lunch for every Edison.  We are thankful for such generous grants that allow our students to have these wonderful being there experiences.

We have published this before, but we want to make sure you have April 21st and 22nd on your calendar as our Overnight field study.  We will be traveling to western Oklahoma for a fun-filled two days!

The Annual Edison Polar Express Day is tomorrow, Friday, December 18th.  Your child may wear pajamas to school!  Please make sure that PJs follow the TPS guidelines (no spaghetti straps, shorts, etc.)  Please send them in tennis shoes or appropriate outside shoes as we will be having recess if the weather allows.  Please do not send other items such as blankets, robes, or stuffed animals.  We do not want them to get left at school over the break.

Please find attached the current edition of the Mayo Times Newsletter.

We wish you and your family a very peaceful holiday and a wonderful new year!
