Goodall Update 2-25-2016

February 25, 2016

Thank you to everyone who attended the overnight meeting on Tuesday.  We hope you are excited about our trip!  We will have another, more informative meeting on Tuesday, March 22 at 6:00 pm.  At that time, we will have a detailed schedule, menu for breakfast and dinner and an agenda for the activities on Thursday and Friday.

Important!!  Included in your child’s home and back this week, are a permission form from Camp Dakani and a reservation form.  These need to be returned ASAP so that we may get an accurate count of people attending.  Also included on the reservation form is a T-shirt order.  We MUST have these back with payment (if you are ordering an Adult shirt) by March 4th.  We must submit the tshirt order by March 7th in order to have them ready by our Field Study.  Thank you in advance for your quick response.

MAP testing has been completed.  We will soon be contacting you to view and sign your child’s test scores.

Student-led conferences will be held Monday, March 7th and Tuesday, March 8th.  Both evenings, the conferences will be from 3:15-5:45.  This is a chance to celebrate your child’s learning by letting them “show what they know”.

March 2nd will be Wacky Wednesday in recognition of Dr. Seuss’ Birthday and Read Across America.  We have many plans in place for this Community Day and hope the kids will enjoy them.  The kids can wackify their Mayo uniforms by wearing it backwards with crazy socks, mix match shoes, crazy hair and more. After checking in with homebase, students will go to family at 8:15 to start this fun day! We will have an all school picnic lunch from 11:45-12:15. We will be eating on the front lawn. Our day will end with an “Oh the Places You’ll Go” balloon release around 1:20. After our balloon release, students will go back to homebase for the remainder of the day. We hope your student is looking forward to this great day!

Summer School Opportunity:  Tulsa Public Schools offers a summer school program for all students entering grades 1-6.  If you need an application please let your child’s homebaseteacher know.  Your child’s teacher may be contacting you to recommend this program as well.  Completed forms are due by April 29.

Please check lost and found! We have a multitude of jackets, hats and gloves with no owners.  We have moved all our lost items to the main lost and found area in the cafeteria.

5th Grade Pancake Breakfast – The 5th graders will be holding a Pancake Breakfast this Saturday morning at University United Methodist Church (500 S. College Ave. – TU Campus) to raise money for their annual 5th Grade Trip. All-you-can-eat pancakes will be served from 8:30-11:30. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Please see a 5th grader to buy tickets and help support their trip to St. Louis!

March 5th is the Mayo Auction!  Your child’s Mayo family has been hard at work creating a project to sell at the auction!  We hope you will come to this fun, adults-only event!

Remember to return your home ‘n backs to the tubs in the cafeteria or the front lobby.  The home and back committee needs them!
