Armstrong Update 1-12-2017

Dear Armstrong Families,

We begin a new quarter, and the second half of our school year!  Time will fly, so please make sure you keep up to date on what's scheduled.

Strings and Band students will now have one science class and one social studies class devoted to them each week.  We hope that by doing this they will have more constant and interesting instruction.  Students not involved in either band or strings will have two uninterrupted days of consistent  and interesting instruction per subject.

Report card dispersal has been moved back due to a snow day.

Friday, January 13th is Spirit Day!  Dress accordingly if you wish.

At recess we have instituted a separation of soccer days between the fourth and fifth grades.  Therefore, we now have a rotation which allows either fourth or fifth access to the Pit for soccer on alternating days.  This was decided in an attempt to quell conflicts that consistently arose.

FIFTH GRADE DESTINATION ANNOUNCEMENT:

It has been voted on and decided that the Fifth Grade Trip will be to Dallas Fort Worth, Texas.

OTHER IMPORTANT ARMSTRONG INFORMATION:

- Armstrong Enrichment Classes ? During the 2nd quarter, we had time set aside for fun enrichment classes that involved learning beyond the required curriculum. We will be postponing the startup of these classes until the February as we have several Monday?s during January that not all of the staff will be here and able to facilitate with these classes.

- Mayo Trivia Night Saturday January 28th ? Look for information coming home with your child today about signing up for this awesome even to help raise money for the Mayo Foundation!
