Tuesday, January 26th the second-year Einsteins will be going on an Any Given Child sponsored Field Trip. Any Given Child provides learning opportunities through the arts for children in grades K-5. The second-year Einsteins will be seeing a musical production of Frog and Toad. Due to limited space, we will not need parent volunteers. Your second-year Einstein should wear a red Mayo shirt with regular Mayo bottoms. We will return in time for lunch.
Thursday, January 28th we will be going on a field study to the Tulsa Ice Oilers Center and Channel 2 News! At the ice rink we will have a wonderful opportunity to experience a cold environment and icy surface as we continue our study of winter properties. At Channel 2 News we will get an awesome behind the scenes tour as we begin our focus on winter weather. Miss Starck’s, Miss Mason’s and Ms. Hancock’s classes will leave Mayo at 9:45 and return at 1:00. Mrs. Beckman’s, Ms. Bond’s and Mrs. Regnier’s homebases will leave Mayo at 10:15 and return at 1:30. The Einsteins will have a special pizza lunch, provided by your Mayo Way Fee. We would love to have parents attend this field study with us! If you would like a pizza lunch, please send $5 to your child’s homebase teacher. Pizza lunch will include 2 slices of pizza and a drink. Please let your child’s homebase teacher know if you are able to attend and if you would like to purchase a lunch at the Oilers Center. We must have all money for chaperone lunches by January 25th. Thank you and we hope you all can attend!

Many brainbreak mats have not made it back after our Martin Luther King Jr. Break. Please bring them back to school as soon as possible.
Don’t forget that our Mayo Trivia night is this coming Saturday January 23, 2016 at the Campbell Hotel. It is a SOLD OUT event and we are looking forward to seeing you there!
February 11th at 2:15 will be our Friendship parties with family. On this day we also pass out friendship cards (a.k.a Valentines). Please help your child prepare 2 sets of cards. One set is to give to family members-15 plus family teacher. The other set is for the homebase group-20 students. Please put the cards in a bag labeled with your child’s name and with the label “homebase” or “family.” Please do not address the cards to specific children. Please start this job soon! It takes a while to write your name so many times! AllEinsteins should be able to sign their names on their cards on their own if they spread the job over several days. It is fine to attach a piece of candy or a sticker to the cards if you would like. Please be mindful that some children have peanut allergies and avoid candy with nuts.
