Goodall Update 1-14-16

January 14, 2015

Cogat Testing- All of the Shoots (2nd graders) took the CoGattest this week.  If your child was absent during the testing, Mrs. DePalma will be doing make-up tests over the next week.

Report Cards-Report cards will be coming home today in homework folders.  If you did receive one, please tell your homebase teacher.

Bubble-ology-Beginning next Tuesday, we will start the extension of our Solids and Liquids unit.  We will dedicate a week (January 19-January 28) to a GEMS event called Bubble-ology! During this event we set up centers that promote the discovery of properties of bubbles through investigation and play.  We will be making predictions, observations, and conclusions based upon our experiences with many types of bubbles and solutions throughout the week.   Look for our demonstration of some of these activities during student-led conferences in March!

We will need a few volunteers for these activites.  Our plan is to do an inquiry in the morning and one in the afternoon during our science/SS time.

Please contact your homebase teacher if you would like to help.

100th Day of School-The 100th day of school is approaching quickly.  Barring any snow days, it will be on Tuesday, February 2nd.  We will doing activities related to the number 100.  We do need some parent volunteers to help with the 100 day snacks.
