Overnight News!!!!
We are excited for our overnight this Friday! The Einsteins have been counting down the days until we get to go to the pumpkin patch! We are hoping to answer some of the questions you have about this fun day in this special Einstein News Edition.
On Friday, your Einstein will need to wear a red uniform polo shirt with either uniform bottoms or jeans. We will be doing a lot of walking this day and will be outside for most of the day so comfortable tennis shoes are recommended. We have been keeping an eye on the weather and there is a slight chance of rain that day in Piedmont, OK. We will be going to the pumpkin patch rain or shine! If you would like to send your child with a raincoat please make sure their name is inside and they are aware they are in charge of it for the day.
The buses will be leaving Mayo at 8:00 a.m. It is important that your child is here on time at 7:45 a.m.that day. We do not want to leave anyone behind! Chester’s Pumpkin Patch is located at 5201 Cimarron Rd NW Piedmont, OK 73078. We will be arriving at Chester’s around 10:00 a.m. Please plan on meeting us there. If you would like to carpool with other Einstein parents, meet in the cafeteria to form your carpooling groups. It is best if you arrive before the buses so you can pay your admission and be ready for your group. Just a reminder that admission is $6+ tax and can be paid at the gate with cash, debit card or credit card.
If you are attending the field study, you will be responsible for a group of children (between 1-3 in a group). Chester’s has a variety of activities which you and your group can explore. There are pony rides, a petting zoo, mystery maze, farm games, a giant slide and a hayride. Each Einstein will also get to pick a pumpkin to take home! These pumpkins are located near the barnyard and petting zoo. Don’t forget to have your group pick out their special pumpkins!
Lunch will be served at 12:15. We will all eat together in the picnic area on the premises. If you ordered pizza, you will be given a lunch ticket when you receive your group assignment. These tickets will be given to Mrs. Beckman and Mrs. Hancock at lunchtime. If you did not order pizza, you will need to bring a sack lunch or purchase one from the concession stand. Please do not purchase anything from the concession stand for any Einstein.
Our group will be called over the intercom to start loading the buses when it is time to leave. Please have your group go to the bathroom and be ready to load the buses by 1:30. Once we arrive back at Mayo your child will stay with their teacher. Parents who are at Mayo and staying for the evening activities are invited to socialize with one another at the “Parent Power-Up”. We will have small refreshments and caffeine available for you in room 108 of Wilson. You will meet up with your Einstein between 4:30 and 5:00. Please check in at the table in the lobby where you will be given an agenda for the evening activities.
Once your child has fallen asleep, parents are welcome to socialize with one another in the cafeteria. Please consider bringing a snack or beverage to share. It is TPS policy that alcohol is not allowed on school property. Please make sure that all snacks and beverages are non-alcoholic.
