Goodall Update 10-22

Goodall Parents,

Ms. Cody has volunteered to be taped to the wall at the Mayo Fall Carnival.  There are donation jars in the cafeteria and if Ms. Cody gets the most donations, the students can tape her to the cafeteria wall!  So let’s support her and the Mayo 5th grade.

Reminder ! Book Character Day:  Book Character Day is next Thursday, October 29.  This will be a half day event.  Your child can dress as their favorite book character, but keep it a secret!  We are sending home a clue sheet in this week’s homework folder.  These need to be returned to your homebaseteacher on the 29th.  On the big day, your child will give “hints” to their classmates as to what or who they are.  Be sure to bring the book, also.

Please send a change of clothes (uniform) for your child to change into before lunch.  If you have any questions, please ask any Goodall teacher.

Miles for Mayo-Since the Einsteins are leaving for their Field Study first thing tomorrow morning, there will not be a Celebrations assembly for awarding Miles for Mayo fund raising prizes.  So….you have some more time to collect pledges and get your envelopes back to school.  The new deadline for returning envelopes is Monday, October 26.  We will award prizes on Friday, October 30.
There are extra pledge envelopes in the office, or you can make your own.  Checks should be payable to Mayo Foundation.  We still have a way to go to make our goal.

The days are getting chillier and your child will probably need a jacket.  If your child wants to wear a sweater or jacket inside the school, it must be a part of the Mayo uniform.  The sweater is navy blue with a Mayo patch on the left side.  The jacket is the fleece type (either royal or navy blue).  It also must have a Mayo patch or have “Mayo” embroidered on it.  These are available at C & J Uniforms.  Please write your child’s name in your jacket in case they get misplaced.
