Dear Goodall parents and guardians,
The countdown in on!! We will be leaving Mayo at 8:00 on Thursday morning for War Eagle resort to float the Illinois River.
Your child will be bringing a black garbage bag home today. Attached to it is a packing list and information of what to wear Thursday morning.
This bag MUST be returned to school on Wednesday to your child’s homebase teacher. This is their “ticket” that ensures that they are attending the field study. If your child does not have a bag on that morning, we will assume that they are not attending the overnight. The bags MUST travel to War Eagle on the bus, not in parent’s cars. The reason for this is that bags have been forgotten at home accidentally and the student had no bedding.
Wednesday morning, take your bag to your child’s homebase teacher and we will keep them until the following morning.
On Thursday morning, please go to your child’s homebase area and pick up your parent packet. All pertinent information will be in this packet (schedules, phone numbers, cabin assignments, raft assignments, etc.) If you are driving, you will also receive a sign to post in your car. If you are willing to carpool, please let us know so that you can make arrangements with other parents.
Also, on Thursday, you and your child need to bring a sack lunch, preferably in a Ziploc bag, since we will be eating on the river. Thursday evening dinner and Friday breakfast will be served in the Main Hall at War Eagle. On Friday, we will be ordering pizza for lunch.
