Goodall Update 9-15-2016

September 15, 2016
We are seeing improvement in our school procedures!  We will continue to reinforce good things we’re seeing, and notify parents of any problems.

NOTICE:  Effective immediately, Pokémon or other trading cards/card games will no longer be allowed at school for Goodall students.  We do not use them in our academic time, so there is no reason for them to be here.  Please check backpacks and pockets on the way out the car door.  We enjoy playing games, too, but toys and games brought from home interfere with learning, and there have been incidents of theft and loss.  No one enjoys that!
We thank you SO much for your understanding and assistance!!
Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) – We are completing our MAP testing this week.  We will have results to send home to you in the near future!
Our first field study…
Our river field study grows closer with every day!  We are finalizing our menu and our boat and bunk assignments, and we have placed our T-shirt order. Remember:  Our next overnight meeting is TONIGHT, Thursday, September 15th, at 6:30 in the Goodall area.  We will discuss menus and share more details about the trip at that time.
A Quick Trip…
Goodall Roots will have a “Being There Experience” at Gilcrease Museum on Tuesday, September 20th, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  Because we will be returning after our normal lunch time, students eating school lunch will go through the line, get their lunch tray, and come up to the Goodall Area.  Students may also bring lunch from home on that day (recommended).  If you are interested in chaperoning your student’s class, please contact your child’s Literacy/Math teacher (Mrs. Moreno, Mrs. Hernandez, or Mrs. Bunch).  We only need one or two per class.  Thank you!
Quick Curriculum Update:

  • Shoots Literacy Group -  Early Asian Civilizations
  • Shoots Word Work - Consonant Digraphs, Syllables, and -ing endings
